Cotn HIll Persians
About Cotn Hill Persians

Cotn Hill has been registered to Gina and Greg Hargett since 1998. We are located in North Carolina, about 35 miles southeast of Charlotte in the small, rural, town of Marshville. My husband and I have been married since 1985, and we have been blessed with two wonderful adult children; Greg T. and Hilary.

Cotn Hill is located on a four-generation family farm. Three generations are currently working on the farm: my husband, his father and our son. Our farm consists of 700-900 cotton acres alone. We also grow corn, wheat and soybeans with an average total of 1800- 2000 acres being farmed each year. Strangely enough, we did not start growing cotton until the year we became a CFA registered cattery in 1998. So it was very befitting to have Cotn Hill as our cattery name.

An interesting fact about Cotn Hill, is though the names of our cats may look strange to you, our family has a lot of fun using farming phrases and puns within a name. For example, GC, RW Cotn Hill’s No Trash Here (see below left), aka “Trash” was named because of the lack of trash that was in our cotton the year he was born. This enabled us to have the highest average cotton grades out of the three surrounding counties.trash

My goal is to produce happy, healthy, well adjusted show babies that compete well in the show hall. They must have a personality that allows grooming with little or no complaining. This is why my babies start receiving baths very early.
I have a very large and close family and I am also very active in my community. Our home is also filled with children of all ages and many different faces that enjoy to play with our kittens and cats. Our cats and kittens are a part of our family, which I think helps them adjust well to new environments and to the show halls and I show exclusively in CFA and breed to the CFA standard for my breed of cat.

To date, Cotn Hill produced or shown from other catteries: six regional wins, one national win and has four DM’s with numerous grand champions and grand premiers. I am a proud member of CFA’s Persian Breed Council and the Exotic Breed Council as well as an active member to several CFA clubs. Carolina Sophisticats of Charlotte, N.C. is my home CFA cat club.

The breeding and showing of my cats is just a small part of my life. I have so many other things in my life that are important to me; however, I value the experiences I have had through the “silly world” of cats.
I appreciate all the great people I have met from all over the world, the wonderful local people that have adopted pet kittens from us, and all the wonderful friends I have made.special delivery

Brown Creek Animal Hospital is my veterinarian hospital for all the health care for our felines. I would like to say thank you to the staff!
